In town,go E from SR-85 on Hoover St (N side of Circle K), go 1 blk, TL (N) on Sahuaro St, go 1.5 blk, on L, at corner of Palo Verde, behind Tabletop phone co. N32.37684 W112.87139. Not an O/N location. Not for use w/ RV-tank hoses – the hose is ~1 1/4″ in diameter, with no fitting on the end, for filling big-mouth water tanks, water trucks, etc. No adapter on site but you might call & ask. Ajo Roping Arena (out of business). Dispersed camping area for all size RVs. W & D no longer avail. Free, may be fee for extended stay. County employee may come & ask you to register. 14-day limit on permit, not enforced. If they go back to fee, ask for Escapees discount. SB toward town on SR-85, 6.5 mi N of town, just after MM 35, TL on Mead Rd (N32 27.934 W112 52.471), go 2.7 mi, passing airport & country club/golf course, to Ajo Well Rd. Bear R, go 0.8 mi, TL into entrance, go 0.3 mi to arena & camping area beyond. N32 26.373 W112 50.282. SB toward town on SR-85, 6.5 mi N of town, just after MM 35, TL on Mead Rd (N32 27.934 W112 52.471), go 2.7 mi, passing airport & country club/golf course, to Ajo Well Rd. Bear R, go 1.3 mi to Cole Rd, just after equestrian ctr/roping arena. TL on Cole Rd, go 0.7 mi, TR on rd signed “Denison Park”, go 0.4 mi to lg pkg lot (Denison Picnic Area). N32.43566 W112.8265. Or, NB on SR-85 from Why, TR on Ajo Well Rd (across from fire sta), continue to Cole Rd, TR, follow above. Camp anywhere in area – by tables, in lg lot, or along rd going S from lot (scout ahead before taking lg rig off pavement). Good Verizon. 5.1 mi in on 8114 at 32.29734 -112.85944, lg flat area on SE side, turnaround OK. Also rt 8115 goes SE from there – many established sites along it & 8115A, BLM 14-day signs. Few or no lg rig sites further S on 8114 (turnaround at 8114C jct – 32.24015 -112.88165) though one was originally reported at 10 mi in (not yet verified). Beautiful views, organ pipe cactus.
