BD (BLM). No facilities. Free. 14-day limit. Go W 6.2 mi from SR-347 on SR-238, TL (S) at MM 38 (33.07754 -112.15075) on Rio Bravo Rd (over RR tracks, becomes Hidden Valley Rd). 1) At 1.4 mi S of SR-238, TR (W) on McDavid Rd (33.05778 -112.15212), go 1.6 mi to end of rd at mtn. Rd starts dusty gravel, turns to narrow rutted dirt, hi-clearance vehicle only, not lg RV OK. Some nice sites for sm rigs.
2) At 2.3 mi, TR (W) on Bowlin Rd (33.0434 -112.1521), go ~1 mi to lg flat area w/ lg mtn of gravel. Perimeter of area has high bulldozed berm preventing access to desert, except one 4WD track up the mtn. Could BD in lg flat area but may not be in BLM. No signs. Parts of rd in are not lg rig friendly.
3) At 4.5 mi (33.0139 -112.1519, 1.2 mi S of paved Farrell Rd which comes 6.0 mi W from SR-347, 1/2 mi N of Harrah’s – watch speed limits across Indian land!), look for 3 separate paths on R (W) side of rd w/in next 0.5 mi (1st one is heavily used for target practice, best to avoid). Some uneven turnoffs. Some lg rig OK, a few rather level areas. Scenic open desert pkg at base of Palo Verde Mtns, cacti, palo verde trees, view of Papago Butte. PHOTO. Harrah’s Ak-Chin Resort & Casino, pkg lot. RV O/N BD. Wilma at 480-802-5000 said no stay limit as long as you visit the casino. From I-8 x151, go 5.5 mi NE on SR-84, TL (N) on SR-347 (Maricopa Rd), go ~10 mi. From Casa Grande, go W on I-8Bus to SR-84, continue to Maricopa Rd, TR. Casino on L. Or, 2.5 mi S on SR-347 from jct w/ SR-238 in Maricopa, casino on R. 33.0241 -112.048. Only 1 entrance to casino, TL at 1st stop sign to paved bus pkg area, RVs also welcome. Also lg level dirt pkg directly across rd (closed in May 22). Any size rig. Restaurants & buffet.
