Go ~1 mi. ~250′ before where st turns 90 degrees S & becomes N KOFA Ave, there is state land on both sides. N side is signed day use only, S side OK w/ permit. Good Verizon. Close to town, quiet. BLM BD areas near town. Free. 14-day limit w/in 28 (if moving to more BLM land it must be at least 25 mi away or to LTVA). Any size rig. 1) Dome Rock (west) – I-10 x11, S frontage rd, both sides. 6 mi of BD E to x17. Best sites for level & lg rigs start 1 mi E of x11. Also accessible from x17, go W on S frontage rd. 2) Dome Rock (east) – I-10 x17, take S frontage rd W to Cholla rd, S on Cholla to 1st wash, BD is to W end of rd. BD access area is only ~1/4 mi wide but widens out as you get away from the rd. Abuts the western Dome Rock area, separated by a wash that may be difficult to cross with your rig. Good Verizon & ATT, fair T-Mobile. Stan Miller #51443 Nov 02. 3) Scaddan Wash – From I-10 x19, go S on Riggles Ave ~0.4 mi to T intersection, TL (E) on rd that becomes frontage rd S side of I-10, pavement goes 4 mi, last 3 have BD to R. Also, at pavement end TR, go 1.5 mi to where main rd makes sharp L, instead go R into huge BD area (N33 38.989 W114 09.096, formerly used by hundreds of SKP Boomers each Jan). Or, go S on US-95 (Central Blvd), & just after where the Interstate crosses, TL on Kuehn St. Go straight past Riggles Ave, follow above. 4) Hi Jolly – MM 112, N of Quartzsite on E side of SR-95. Or from I-10 x19 take N frontage rd to Plymouth Rd, N on Plymouth to Tyson, W on Tyson to SR-95 which takes you around the congestion downtown. BD is E of SR-95 at MM 112. 33.70955 -114.21594. 5) Plomosa Rd – look for Plomosa Rd, E of SR-95 ~1.5 mi N of Hi Jolly. 33.74876 -114.2161. Get permit at host location. Go further down to find spots R & L of Plomosa (paved) Rd. Lots of room. Pay attention to the “no camping beyond this point” signs for limits of BLM area, See “AZ, BOUSE: BD (BLM) areas along Plomosa Rd” listing for detail. Gold Nugget Rd BD. No facilities. Free. No restrictive signs. All OK for lg rig. 8 mi E of town, I-10 x26. 1) Lg flat area N of WB exit ramp, accessible WB only. 33.67973 -114.08397.
2) Go S on Gold Nugget Rd, lg flat area immed to L, SE quad. 33.67723 -114.082.
3) 0.4 mi S of exit, just before fork in rd, both sides. Lg flat areas, stone firering. 33.67534 -114.07792.
4) Bear L at fork, go 350′, huge flat area on R. 33.67525 -114.0768. Go no further E w/ lg rig. PHOTO.
5) Bear R instead at fork, go 0.5 mi, W side of rd. 33.6684 -114.07136. Stone firering. Dusty, ATV trails. Last lg rig turnaround. Rd beyond not recommended, goes into wash. All but #1 BLM, 14-day limit. Chas Wilder #88717 viewed Apr 22.


MST&T Rd (KOFA NWR). No facilities. Free. 14 day limit. ~12 mi S of town on US-95, TL (E) on MST&T Rd. Watch for sign on R, rd not well marked. 33.49544 -114.21585. Steep dropoff from pavement. BLM & signed No Camping for ~4 mi (rough rd) until KOFA boundary. Lots of open space, plenty of room for many lg rigs. Good Verizon. Andy Shears & Lezlie Garr #137035 stayed Dec 19. Palm Canyon Rd (BLM & KOFA NWR). No facilities. Free. 14 day limit. ~19 mi S of town on US-95, TL (E) on Palm Canyon Rd (7 mi of gravel), N33.3888 W114.217. Spots in BLM, 1 at N33.39345 W114.19891. Many spots in NWR. At end of rd, 1/2-mi steep narrow trail to 40+ palm trees in native habitat. Rick & Kathy Howe #74769 stayed Mar 23.
