Over fee criteria but includes D and hot mineral bath access (on all days stayed incl arrival and departure days), each of which are $9 daily for non-campers. ~4 mi S of Shoshone on SR-127, take Tecopa Hot Springs Rd E to the hot springs ~1 mi before Tecopa. Or, ~2 mi further S on SR-127 take Old Spanish Trail Hwy E to Tecopa, then to the hot springs. (These 2 rds form a loop.) N35.87 W116.232. Check that E works before setting up. Take this narrow gravel rd W into BLM area. Numerous widely-dispersed pkg areas. Soft, loose dirt over hard pack but very dusty, also can flood. Scout in toad 1st. Verizon 1st mi or so. Dumont Dunes ATV Area (BLM). BD. Vault toilets. Passes required: $30/wk or $90/yr (Oct 1-Sep 30. More certain holiday wkends.). No daily rate, no discounts. 14-day limit. SR-127, ~30 mi N of Baker. Main dunes rd goes E ~3.5 mi off SR-127 at MM 34. N35.6925 W116.302. ~1 mi S on SR-127 is another rd to the E into this area. Pkg area (BLM). No facilities. Free. No prohibitive signs. ~4 mi S of Shoshone on SR-127, go E on Tecopa Hot Springs Rd. Go past the hot springs area (35.87281 -116.21929), to where the rd makes a T. TL on Old Spanish Trail Hwy. Go ~1 mi, TR on Furnace Creek Rd. Go ~1 mi, TR on China Ranch Rd. Drive to top of ridge. Lg pkg area to R. Spectacular long distance views. If you keep going on China Ranch Rd, the hills and other scenery are just awesome, & you will arrive at the famous China Ranch & their delicious date products. You can also hike the formidable Amargosa River Valley from here, with its hundreds of unique flora and fauna. Ask the folks at China Ranch – they are most hospitable. Would you believe a waterfall in the desert? Note: Tecopa Hot Springs Rd reported closed before & after the hot springs, Apr 19, if so go further S on SR-127, go E on Old Spanish Trail Hwy thru town to connect to China Ranch Rd.
