From US-160 in town, go ~13 mi N on CR-501 to S end of Reservoir, TR (E) on CR-501A/FR-603 (around E side of Reservoir, good gravel), go ~3.5 mi, TR on FR-852. 0.1 mi, on L, flat dirt clearing, unshaded. 1-2 bars ATT.0.3 mi, on R, areas by lg steel corral.0.4 mi, on L, flat, some ruts, could get muddy. Lake view.0.6 mi, on L, flat, clear, unshaded area. Rd heavily rutted past here, 4WD suggested especially if wet, rd dead-ends after about 1/2 mi.Notes: Except for some NF CGs, the entire Reservoir shoreline area is owned by a private company which charges for day use and does not permit camping. CR-501A/FR-603 goes a bit further N along E side of Reservoir but does not officially connect with CR-501 at N end of Reservoir. From US-160 in town, go ~19 mi N on CR-501 at N end of Reservoir, TL (N) on Middle Mountain Rd/CR-2274/FR-724 (good gravel), at 37.43836 -107.543. 1.5 mi N, E side, sm pullout, steep access.1.6 mi N, L side, rd goes downhill, 1 spot at top for med-lg rig.4.1 mi, L side, lg fairly-flat clearing, rutted dirt loop rd. Several lg rigs. Good ATT. 8975′ elev.4.3, both sides, sm cleared areas.4.5, L side, sm cleared area across rd from trailhead.4.7, L side, lg cleared area. Last turnaround area for lg rig. 6.0, R side, lg gravel area, good access, ATV tracks on hills.7.5, R side, sm flat pullout, sunny. Sm rig.7.6, L side, shady spot. Durfield BD (BLM). Free. 14 day limit. May 1-Nov 30. ~12.5 mi E of Durango CO (~6 mi W of Bayfield), go S from US-160 at 37.22664 -107.69502, just E of MM 97 (just E of Len’s Junkyard). BLM sign on gate. Go 0.2 mi, bear L at jct, go 0.3 mi, TR & immed on R is back-in spot, a bit sloped. 37.22152 -107.69072. Elev 7133′. Or, bear R at jct, go 0.3 mi, lg area on L, entry a bit rough, room for several lg rigs. 0.2 mi further, on R, 37.21938 -107.6995, 2-ended spot, 1 lg rig. Others further on, explore in sm vehicle. Sauls Creek Rec Area (NF). BD sites. Fire rings. Free. 14 day limit. May 1-Nov 30. WB, US-160 MM 104.9, TL on CR-526 (sign for Sauls Creek), go 1/4 mi, TL on CR-527 (no sign until after turn), follow below. EB, E end of town on US-160, TR (S) at the Conoco, go 0.1 mi, TL at Bayfield Gardens sign on CR-526A (unsigned), continue straight onto CR-526 becomes good oiled gravel rd, go ~1 mi, TR on CR-527 (no sign until after turn), good oiled gravel, go ~2 mi, TR on CR-528 (becomes FR-755), a few widely scattered sites, also on FR-755A, most fairly level. Watch tree overhangs. Nothing for lg rigs on FR-755A1, B or C. Or, continue ~2 mi straight on CR-527 (becomes FR-608), a few sites, also to L on FR-131, A & B. Nothing for lg rigs on FR-608A or 131C. Good map of all rds at info kiosk on way in (take a photo). Quiet & serene. Poor Verizon, ATT OK. Hiking/OHV trails. Pine forest, has oil/gas wells in area. A couple of gas well pads are not gated & MVUM shows rd in OK for dispersed camping (but BP personnel may ‘request’ that you not park there). If you use, park on edge away from the equipment. Beaver Meadows Rd/FR-135, BD spots. ~8 mi E of town on US-160, MM 111, just W of county line, 37.2849 -107.4932, go N on FR-135 (mostly good wide dusty gravel). No dispersed camping 1st 2 mi. Logging trucks. Ranchers drive cattle up/down rd & across some sites. ~MM 4.5, on L, interesting spot up a drive between trees, just after FR-604 goes L, 37.3279 -107.47971.

7.0, side rd on R to lg gravel storage area (USFS vehicles sometimes present).
8.7, lg clearings both sides, berm might be difficult for some vehicles.
9.1, overlook on L, 1 sm-med rig, tight turnaround.
10, lg clearing on L, a bit sloped, easy access. ATT w/ booster.
10.1, lg clearing on L, easy access. Across from Baldy Mtn Rd FR-69. 37.36197 -107.45765. Elev 9475′. ATT w/ booster.
10.2, lg clearing on R, area goes back behind trees. Just before turnoff to L for FR-150. Several lg rigs. ATT w/ booster.
11, Piedra Overlook, rd to R goes to 60′ wide culdesac, 37.37546 -107.44883. Great view, 9706′ elev. No cell service.
13.1, end of FR-135, sm culdesac, 1 lg rig might fit. Just before it on L, lg-rig back-in among trees, stone firering. 9911′ elev. No cell service.
