Blue Mountain BD. 14-day limit. Go to tfc light on US-93 2 mi S of South Missoula Walmart (not the Super Walmart). Turn W on Blue Mountain Rd. When pavement ends, it is a long pull up a fairly good NF gravel rd. 1st spot is 10.3 mi at NF “Gate 3” (46.82128N 114.17528W), which controls entrance to the NF watchtower & a UofM observatory at the top of Blue Mtn. Just barely room for our 2 40-foot MHs plus toweds. This is the very 1st piece of ground on Blue Mtn suitable for RVs. No camping allowed in the 1st 5 mi after leaving pavement. Next site has lots of room at 0.5 mi further up from Gate 3. There are also clearings 1 mi & 3 mi further up from Gate 3. The Gate 3 spot has clear view of Missoula 2510′ down & 6 mi distant.
