Spring Rec Site (BLM). 3 unshaded pkg lots in signed “Overnight Camping” area, undesignated pkg w/in lots, OK for lg RVs or pkg for undesignated tent camping under trees. Tables, fire ring/grills. Potable W, pit toilets, trash service. No D. $5/vehicle (does not apply to towed), S/A Pass 1/2, no fee when W turned off. Open all yr. From I-84 x345, go 3 mi on US-30Bus into town, becomes Washington St. Bear L at sign for Spring Rec Site where US-30Bus bears R to go back to I-84. Or, from I-84 x353, go 5 mi on US-30Bus into town, make sharp R turn at sign for Spring Rec Site (where main rd bears L & becomes Washington St – if turn too sharp, turn around in town on R by RR & come back) onto Snake River Rd (winding, paved, some spots 1 1/2-lane along cliff, no shoulder), go 3.3 mi, turnoff on R. 44.37686 -117.23857. Lg rigs cannot turn around w/out backing, in “camping” lots. Boat ramp & dock, fish cleaning sta. Along Brownlee Reservoir (Snake Riv). Warning: There is barely room for 2 cars to pass on some parts of Snake River Rd, but folks pull lg boat & travel trailers on it all the time – use at your own risk. PHOTO. Ed Daniels #100730 May 12. Dispersed BD, Snake River Rd. Free. No signs. Follow directions to Spring Rec Site. At 2.4 mi in on Snake River Rd, area for several rigs 0.9 mi before Rec Site, along water’s edge. Turnoff, 44.36458 -117.2291, unsigned, very steep, sharp angle to rd (med/lg rig could only make it coming from town). Portajohn. Rough area, most lg rigs would make it only to 1st spot by tree. SR-201, lg open-sky pkg areas. Free. All along L (riv) side of hwy unless otherwise stated, nice view of Snake Riv, RR across riv. 10 mi S of town, I-84 x356, go NE on SR-201 (paved 2-lane, winding in spots). At 0.1 mi, on R, dirt pullout loops back to hwy, OK for 1 or 2 rigs.
At 0.2 mi, narrow paved pullout, no signs, close to hwy, 1 lg rig OK.
0.6, gravel loop to water’s edge & back, no signs, away from hwy, tight but doable for most lg rigs, OK for 1 or 2 rigs.
2.0, long narrow gravel pullout, no signs, close to hwy, 2 or 3 lg rigs OK, don’t get too close to crumbling edge. Also one across hwy, 1 lg rig.
3.0, 44.26315 -117.12724, “Oasis on The Snake”, 120×300′ mostly flat/level gravel/grass area, tables, firerings, pit toilet. BLM sign Pack It In Pack It Out, & ID Power sign 14-day limit. Room for several, any size rig. 1 entry/exit but turnaround OK unless really crowded (unlikely). Primitive boat ramp (short driveway to riv, do not park in front of it). Riv side of area is 150′ away from hwy. 0.4 mi from RR. Next to Catfish Junction RV Park to the E – D, W, propane avail (sign). 10.4 mi W of bridge to Weiser. Dave & Kathy Duff #30283 Sep 96.
