BD areas, W side of SR-414 (BLM). No facilities. Free. 14 day limit. 4 mi N of town, MM 118, TL (W) on rough gravel rd, 2-3 sm spots in 1st 1/2-mi. Need short rig, hi-clearance after that. Better access rd 2 mi further on hwy. Rough rd, deep ruts start 0.4 mi from hwy. Single lane, turn around by backing off rd, so poor choice for trailers. Very scenic Dakotas-style badlands. Lg flat spot w/ good views, old fire ring, ~0.6 mi from hwy, only for hi-clearance vehicles.
6 mi N of town, go W on wide gravel rd, flat spot 0.3 mi on L (S). Couple of spots for sm rigs in 1st 1/4 mi. Spot for med rigs at 0.3 mi, but need enough clearance to cross small ditch at side of rd. Depth may vary over time. Scenic badlands area. Active natural gas well at end of rd (0.6 mi from hwy), can turn around there if pulling trailer. Rd OK except for rough cattleguard & broken pavement at edge of hwy.
6.6 mi, W side, gravel/dirt rd, pullout on R immed past cattle guard. Construction spot for utility work. Room for several lg rigs. Just across cattle guard on R. Leaving badlands, not as scenic as other spots, but better rd.
7.7, W side, gravel/dirt rd, pullout on R immed past cattle guard. Flat spot w/ room to back 2-3 med rigs in. N edge of badland area.
