Natrona County Park CGs, W shore of Alcova Lake. BD sites. Tables, firerings. Vault toilets, free D, W $1/100-gal (gravity fill, connection might not fit some RVs). $10. 10-day limit. Also some reservable EWS sites, over fee criteria. Go SW of town 1.7 mi on SR-220, then L (set odometer to zero) on Lake Shore Dr (CR-406, not well marked, paved, ends w/ turnaround at 5.3 mi, no mileposts). Watch for kiosks with pmt boxes on R. BD sites on lakeside start at each kiosk. (Sandy Beach Rd at 1.1 mi is day use only.) Okie Beach CG at 2.8 mi; D at 4.5 mi on R; E sites at 4.6 mi on R (watch for small wood sign); Westside CG at 4.7 mi; Fremont Canyon CG at 5.2 mi. Turnaround can be tight for long towed rigs (paved). ~36′ max. Gravel interior rds. Some have steep drop off CR-406. Most sites not designated. Can be windy. Natrona County Park CGs, E shore of Alcova Lake. BD sites. Tables, firerings. Vault toilets. $10. 10-day limit. Rds into CGs very deeply rutted & rough May 16. This side of reservoir has no commercial or residential development. Boat access. Can be windy. All sites open sky, some along shore. D & W at W shore area (other listing). Also D & W at Eagle Creek RV, $5, from SR-220 turn E on CR-407, go ~0.5 mi, sign on R, just down from Country Store, easy access. 1) Black Beach CG. ~20 sites, mostly designated. From SR-220 turn E on CR-407 (becomes Kortes Rd). Go ~3 mi, past dam. TR on gravel rd to Black Beach CG. Take 1st 2 L turns to most sites. N42 32.0 W106 42.8. 5200′ elev.
2) Cottonwood CG. ~20 sites. Continue on CR-407, 1.8 mi past turn to Black Beach. N42 31.4 W106 44.7. 5500′ elev. Good gravel interior rds w/ well-spaced, level designated sites. Short steep fossil discovery trail.

Gray Reef Reservoir (Natrona Co Park). 10 gravel sites, tables, fire rings, some sun shades. Pit toilets, dumpster. $10. 14 day limit. Go N from town to SR-220, TR (E), go 1/2 mi, TR on good gravel Gray Reef Rd, go 1.7 mi. N42 34 0.9 W106 42 11.1. Primarily used by trout fishermen. Boat ramp. Tight for lg rigs. BD. Along North Platte Riv near Kortes Dam. “Miracle Mile” with excellent trout fishing. From Alcova, turn S on CR-407, Cottonwood Rd/Kortes Rd toward Seminole SP. Paved rd becomes gravel. Continue ~27 mi and it becomes paved again. In a few mi, there will be a crossrds area where the sign says Kortes Dam 3 mi and there is a sign for an RV park and store. Turn where the sign says “Miracle Mile” and along the riv on both sides there are free camp spots with tables, fire rings, occasional vault toilets. On N side of riv are a few handicapped access spots and also a fishing platform on the riv for handicapped. Mary Lane & Elaine Cannell #37449 Jun 03.
