A few side rds to BD areas. Lg rig OK until 2.2 mi in, can turn around at lg BD area on L. Narrow winding rd continues to trailhead, lots in area all signed no camping. Immed after crossing RR tracks at ~0.4 mi in, site good for lg rigs. More dispersed sites further in, any size rig. Much ATV & targetshooting activity. No trains. Pit toilets at Picket Post Trailhead (continue 0.4 mi on E Saddleback Rd, TR on N Alamo Canyon Rd, go 0.1 mi), rd loops around toilet & back to rd, 1 day pkg spot for a lg RV, signed no O/N camping. Open Oct 1-Mar31. 16 mi NE of Apache Jct on Apache Trail Rd (SR-88), MM 213, across hwy from ‘Tortilla Flat’ stores. 2 mi past Canyon Lake. 33.52599 -111.3909. ~40′ max total rig size on SR-88 from MM 204 to the E (including Tortilla Flat) due to sharp curves/switchbacks.
