Sheaves Cove Park/Picnic Area, pkg lot. Tables, fire ring, trash barrels. Free. No stay limit, locals say it’s public land. PH-460, 9 mi E of town (~24 mi W of Stephenville, ~5 mi W of Ship Cove), go S ~1/4 mi at sign for Park & Hidden Falls. 48.51775 -59.05264. Lg gravel site, level, room for 1-2 lg rigs, will need to disconnect toad to turn around. Gravel access rd is rough & steep near end where it descends to Park. Best to disconnect toad before descending. Local fisherman have built boat docks & supply bldg on part of site. Beautiful views of hills, a marshy pond that drains into a short “mountain stream” which goes directly into the ocean, & the rocky coastline. A few sm gravel pullouts along top part of access rd. Boutte Du Cap Park. ~6 designated sites, tables, fire pits. Potable W, pit toilets, trash cans at entrance. Free. Sign welcomes visitors for free camping. No known stay limit. Hwy 460, turn W at Seashore Dr, Park entrance ~1/4 mi, on farthest W tip of the peninsula. 48.46475 -59.26217. Go past 1st circular rd, sites on both sides. Paved rd all the way. OK for sm-med rigs.
