Council Grove Lake (COE). 7 CGs, some reservable, all fees S/A Pass 1/2. Reg fees Apr 1-Oct 31. W shut off Nov 1. Frost proof hydrants at Neosho, Richey Cove & main office for off-season W. Some off-season free camping. E may still be on. 14 day limit then out of “the park” 24 hrs, cannot occupy same site on return (confirmed difference from usual COE policy). 1) Richey Cove. 44 sites, most 30A E, some 50A, many w/ W, most w/ patio covers, mostly level, mostly paved. Showers, vault toilets, D. $12-$22, some reservable. ~2.5 mi N of US-56 in town on SR-177, W side. Verizon good, sat many sites. Nature trail, many sites lakeview beach, phone, boat ramp. 2) Custer Park. 10 dispersed sites, no HUs. W, restrooms (showers/D at Richey Cove). $8. ~1/2 mi N of Richey Cove on SR-177, W side. Sm sites good for tents & small rigs. Plenty of level asphalt pkg near sites where lg rigs would fit. Some rd noise.
3) Kit Carson. 14 sites, gravel, mostly level, mostly lakeview w/patio covers, most 30A E, some w/ W, showers under construction (D at Richey Cove). $10-$20. ~1/4 mi S of Richey Cove, W side. Phone, boat ramp. Some rd noise. Verizon good, sat iffy/wooded.
4) Kansa View. 5 dispersed sites, no HUs. W, restrooms (showers/D at Richey Cove or Santa Fe Trail). $8. ~1.8 mi N of US-56 in town on SR-177, TL (W) on Dam Rd (signs for Council Grove Lake, Neosho park, Santa Fe park), just after turn before dam, on N (R) side. Boat ramp. Mostly for tents & small rigs.
5) Neosho Park. 8 sm sites, gravel, look first. Some 30A E. W, restrooms (showers/D at Santa Fe Trail). $13-$17. From Kansa View, across dam, 1 mi R to City Lake Rd, go 1/4 mi, TR (W). Boat ramp, nature trail.
6) Santa Fe Trail. 39 mostly level, mostly paved sites, 30A EW (some 50A). D, showers, patio covers. $14-$22, camp host takes credit card pmt 10a-noon & 6-8p. ~1.8 mi N of US-56 in town on SR-177, TL (W) on Dam Rd (signs for Council Grove Lake, Neosho park, Santa Fe park), go W 1 mi, ~1 mi W on City Lake Rd, TR. 38.68189 -96.52486.
