No prohibitive signs. ~2.2 mi E from US-491 on SR-184, MM 2.2 (~200 yards E of green rd sign “MC RD 23.5” & Montelores Baptist Church), slight uphill ramp to very lg level gravel area. Any size rig. McPhee Rec Area CG (NF). 42 BD, 19 E & 2 FHU sites, tables, fire rings. W at camp host. Flush toilets. $24 BD, S/A Pass 1/2, +$8 if w/ E (no discount). FHU sites reservable, $36, S/A Pass $22. A few double sites, fee unk. Reservable until Labor Day. All services closed Oct-Apr but open for BD if no snow, $12, S/A Pass 1/2. Pinion loop closed in winter, Juniper loop open. Go 1.7 mi SW from town on SR-145, TR (NW) on SR-184, go 3 mi, look for McPhee sign on N side of hwy & TR on CR-25, go 0.3 mi, take 1st R turn, go 1.7 mi to Rec Area. 37.5 -108.55. Paved, mostly for sm-med rigs, a few for lg rig. Along S shore of McPhee Reservoir (very low Apr 19). Verizon good 4G. 2 hiking trails. Near Anasazi Heritage Ctr. Dolores Public Lands 970-882-7296. .
