Dispersed BD site (NF). Lg grassy clearing w/ rock fire ring. 14 day limit. US-12 in town, ~MM 21, go S on Elliston Gulch Rd/FR-314. Signed, but looks like a pkg lot. Rd goes out the back of it. Go 1.5 mi on good gravel rd to clearing, just before a sm bridge & sm flowing creek. Snowbound in winter, wet in spring. Is rutted, not flat, but room for several sm rigs. McDonald Pass Scenic Overlook, lg flat gravel potholed pkg lot (NF). Scenic Overlook is on US-12, E of town at top of McDonald Pass, ~20 mi W of Helena. Lot is 1/2 mi S from hwy, near cell towers, rd very rough w/ potholes. Continental Divide Trail passes through here. Historic marker on US-12 for old rd. Nearby CG is closed.
