Alvord Desert. No facilities. 1.5 mi N of town on SR-205, where it turns sharp L, continue straight ahead (N) onto E Steens Rd (shows on maps as Fields-Denio Rd). Go ~21 mi (paved, then good gravel after 12 mi), to turnoff on R that goes down to the dry lake. ~1/2-way down is pkg area, or continue to playa & camp along dry lake edge (check before taking lg rig).
