2) FR-545B, Sunset Crater area. Go 11.3 mi N of Flagstaff Mall on US-89, MM 430.5, TR (E) on rd to Sunset Crater NM (FR-545), then immed L on wide gravel rd FR-545B. In ~0.2 mi, 2 pullout areas on L side of FR-545B w/ room for a few sm/med RVs, some rd noise, N 35 22.530 W 111 34.477. Elev 7300′. Or, in 1.5 mi, at “Cents for Seeds” reforestation sign, TR onto track opposite sign. 100 yds off rd is a flat area w/ room for several sm/med RVs. Not much turning space for trailers or lg MHs. Go 11.3 mi N of Flagstaff Mall on US-89, MM 430.5, TL (W) on FR-552 (heavily used, creating a lot of dust esp on wkends) directly across US-89 from Sunset Crater Rd, go 0.5 mi to a T intersection. To the R w/in 0.5 mi are a number of places for lg RVs to turnaround/park, 1 at N35.37909 W111.58646. Also a few sites to L. Elev 7366′. Not marked for BD on USFS Travel Map but no prohibitive signs along rd & many folks camping. x326, just N of Munds Park, go 0.8 mi W on FR-253/Willard Springs Rd to where paved rd bears R into waste facility, instead continue straight onto old paved rd (old deteriorating asphalt, some very rough washed-out spots), then into lg flat gravel area. Can park along edges (much traffic goes thru middle). Or, continue straight thru gravel area onto dirt rd FR-253, at 0.9 mi from x326 TL into lg area, N34.97047 W111.69387, many intertwined rds (some very rough), BD sites everywhere under sparse trees, best to check 1st w/ sm vehicle. Or, from 1.2-1.8 mi in, huge areas both sides for BD, some shaded, 1 at N34 58.477 W111 41.724. Or, 2.0 mi in, just after FR-9469P turnoff, huge area on L, sparse trees. Good ATT. Elev 6715′. At Lake, rd to L around W shore deadends at a turnaround (some maps show a rd encircling the lake); room for many rigs (rd is rutted, scout ahead). Continuing straight along E shore there are several sites for any size rig w/ view of peaks & lake (scout ahead; if full, might be no turnaround), deadends at private ranch.
