N44.89573 W120.08795. If SB, tight R turn off hwy. In CG, lg rigs veer R at sign board into sites. Turnaround both ends of park. Among lodgepole & other pines, some lg rig OK, some unshaded, many hard to level, sites are lg enough to park partly sideways to make leveling easier. D at FG in town. BD (BLM). No facilities. Free. No stay limit posted but prob 14 days. Go S then W on SR-218 past Clarno unit of John Day Fossil Beds. Pass Clarno State Rec Site (pit toilets & dumpster), cross bridge over John Day Riv. Just past white bldg w/ white fence signed “Clarno Grange” turn N down dirt rd that parallels John Day Riv. Just past some developed property are 2 pullthrus. The one on E side of the rd is shady. The one on W side is up on a little hill w/ no shade. Room for 2 RVs (30′ at most) on each side. No Verizon.
