Was 7-day limit before Hurricane Ike destroyed surrounding town on 9/13/08. From Galveston, go E on SR-87, taking free ferry (lg enough for tractor trailers, no gas in cans – enforced) to Bolivar Peninsula, then 19.3 mi E to Rollover Pass, the canal linking the Gulf of Mexico with the intracoastal waterway. Or, from Winnie, go 20 mi S on SR-124, then W on SR-87 to Rollover Pass. N29.508 W94.5. RV pkg on NW, SW & SE corners of jct of hwy w/ canal (3 areas). Wide open, no designated sites or number of sites. Fairly level. Any size rig. Great fishing piers, superb birdwatching & shell collecting. Can be windy, mosquitoes when not.
