Government owned land, O/N free. 4.5 mi N of town on PH-40. N53 56.045 W119 10.593. Going SB toward town, easy to spot RVs along stream & under trees, both sides of hwy. Going SB, if you get to Smoky River South Prov Rec Area (22 camp sites and 1 mi N of Grande Cache) you have come too far. Interior rds can be very muddy, look before pulling off main rd. No posted stay limit. 82 KM/49 mi N of town (98 KM/61 mi S of Grande Prairie) on PH-40, E side (website says also on W side). (No sign traveling N, 1st R after Kakwa Riv, signed.) 1/4 mi off hwy on badly rutted dirt/gravel rd. 54.42602 -118.55085. Lg-rig turnaround. Along Kakwa Riv. Surrounded by forest. Quiet. No Verizon.
