Clear Creek Reservoir SWA. Dispersed sites. Stone fire rings. Vault toilets. Free but SWA pass required (see CO NOTE 5, SWAs). 14-day limit. Open all yr unless blocked by snow. From Granite, go 1.6 mi S on US-24 (~20 mi S of Leadville), TR (W) on Clear Creek Canyon Rd/CR-390 (washboarded), go 2 mi to SWA on L (signed), just past Reservoir. N39.02185 W106.28162. Room for 50 RVs along creek or in an open-sky area, any size rig, good interior gravel rds. Mostly level. Dock, boat ramp, kayaking, fishing. ATT & Verizon marginal. 8900′ elev. 2 major hiking trails, Colorado Trail goes thru camp, foot bridge across creek. 15 mi from Mt Elbert summit, highest point in CO. Winfield ghost town area (NF). Undesignated camping along creek. Vault toilet. Free. From Granite, go 1.6 mi S on US-24, TR (W) on Clear Creek Canyon Rd/CR-390 (after 2.5 mi, poorly maint, washboarded, potholes, messy when wet, 2 switchbacks, lg rigs not recommended), go 12 mi to ghost town, TL (S), go across creek, immed TL (E) to lg open mostly-sloped camp area. Irregular interior rds w/ sharp rocks many places. 14000′ peaks all around, Continental Divide Trail goes thru town.
