Lake Serene Trailhead, 35′ x 300′ rough pkg lot (NF). No facilities. Free. Passing USFS staff ignored me. ~15 mi W of Skykomish, near Index, US-2 MM 35, just W of bridge, TL (S) on good gravel rd. Go 0.4 mi, just past Trailhead, to pkg area on L. Rigs up to 30′ can park perpendicular to rd. Short spur trail to main trails. Larger pkg area at main Lake Serene Trailhead but local FS policy is no camping at the trailheads. Riv access pkg lot just beyond. Lg trees great for shade, not good for solar/satellite.
