Free. 14-day limit. 28 mi W of Juntura on US-20, MM 161 at summit, go S on unsigned dirt rd (dusty, rough but doable, some spots slow over rocks). At 0.1 mi on L, open site. BD area (NF). 2.4 mi E of Oasis Cafe on US-20, turn N just before curved bridge, cross Old Horseshoe Bend bridge, TL (N). Arrow painted on rock shows the way. Go past FS sign showing fire restrictions to a few lg pkg areas. Don’t try to go to end of rd; only go to last area on L where you can turn around. 43 46.337N 118 02.975W. REPORT NEEDED – Old Horseshoe Bend bridge reported blocked off, Sep 20, but there may be access from the E side of the US-20 bridge, at 43.76678 -118.03968, check w/ sm rig. Pkg area. BD. Stone firering. Free. No posted time limit. US-20, ~17.5 mi E of town, MM 213.4, just W of bridge over Malheur Riv, go S on unmarked gravel rd (goes to paved sections of old hwy) 0.5 mi to pullout areas along riv. Rough in spots but doable. Lg rig might have to unhook to turnaround. Do not O/N near cliffs – continuous falling rock. Do not go further unless hi-clearance; rockslides covering rd. Loops back around to US-20 at MM 214 but do not bring lg rig in from there – no lg pkg area or turnaround. Guy Gipson #84383 Sep 09.
