Also, continue another 3.4 mi S on Baylor Canyon Rd to dispersed camping area on L. N32.34895 W106.61245. Rough rocky & sometimes rutted dirt rd winds among numerous sites. MM 164, paved scenic overlook. Portajohns, dumpsters. No prohibitive signs. ~2 mi E of Organ NM, EB side only, at summit of San Augustin Pass. Plenty of room for lg units. 165, Aguirre Springs CG (BLM). 55 gravel sites & some spots along rd on way in. BBQs, fire pits, covered patios. Pit toilets, no D, W at camp host 4 mi from CG (on the way in), trash cans. $7, S/A Pass 1/2. Open all yr. From Organ NM, go ~1 mi E on US-70 over San Augustin Pass, watch for R turn to S onto entry rd. Follow paved rd ~5 mi to CG. N32.37039 W106.56091. ~6 sites (in 1st loop) are level & suitable for motorhomes up to 35′ but sign warns trailers over 23′ not advised. Some other sites unlevel. Many pkg spots & room to turn around, 1 at 32.8096 -106.122. 3.5 mi from White Sands NM. Bird watching. A bit dusty. Watch for goathead stickers. Military personnel & Border Patrol visit. I-25 x1, go 7.5 mi E from town on Dripping Springs Rd, TR (S) on dirt rd to Sierra Vista Trailhead (popular mtn biking use) at N32 19.393 W106 37.828. 1st 1/3 mile is OK for lg rigs but only ~5-6 sites. Not very level. Rd continues S beyond Trailhead pkg area & has sites, sm rigs only due to wash crossings & rough rd. Gorgeous scenery at foot of Organ Mtns. Very weak Verizon. From I-25 x9 go 1.8 mi W through Dona Ana on Thorpe Rd, TR on N Valley Dr, go 1/2 mi, TL on Shalem Colony Trail, go 1.2 mi (crossing Rio Grande Riv), TR on Rocky Acres Trail, TL on 1st gravel road on L, cross cattle guard to see NM sign & 1st pkg area. 2nd pkg area is ~200 yards farther down the rd & crosses a wash. Walk or use sm vehicle to determine access to 2nd pkg area w/ room for 5+ any size rigs. From I-10 x135, go 3 mi NE on US-70/W Picacho Ave, TL on Shalem Colony Trail, go 4.7 mi, TL on Rocky Acres Trail, TL on 1st gravel rd on L, cross cattle guard to see NM sign, follow above.
