Boon-docking Location(s)

Storrie Lake SP. 30 sites w/ adobe style shelters & firerings. 11 sites w/ adobe shelters at N end of park, W only except for one central E post w/ 2 30A outlets. 11 pkg lot sites, also at N end of park, have W & shared E. On S end of park are 19 sites w/ adobe shelters, 16 w/ EW, 3 W only. On SW corner of park is Gallinas Riv CG, sm area w/ 4 sites w/ stone shelters & EW, restricted to 26′ RVs, open only in summer. Lg field for BD, could hold ~12 RVs. Restrooms & showers (no W Oct 1 to spring). Fees/stay limit: See NEW MEXICO SPs NOTE below. 4 mi N of town on SR-518, or 6 mi N of I-25 x345, on SR-518. Park is on L. On entering, TR to ‘parking lot’ area, TL to adobe shelters with EW. Open all yr. Easy access any size RV. Some uneven rd pavement. Gate locked at sunset (5p-7a after Oct 1), after then park outside gate & walk to your site. Lake level varies, boat ramp sometimes unusable. Some fishing. Playground. Walmart nearby, some hwy noise. Lg gravel storage lot. No facilities. Free. No signs. 5 mi S of town, I-25 x339 (Romeroville), go 1/4 mi E on US-84, on R (S) side. Room for several rigs. Debby Beatty #135578 viewed Dec 17.


TO TAOS: SR-518, CGs & BD spots, across the mtns thru Carson NF. 14-day limit. MM 0, Las Vegas, NM. (not an O/N location).
MM 9.4, E Side. historic marker, lg gravel pkg area. 3-4 lg rigs. Not much night traffic. Nice view of Hermit Peak to W.
27, N side. Gravel pullout. Mostly day-use by local fishermen, but no signs prohibiting O/N. ~3 mi E of Mora. At bend in Mora River. 1-2 med rigs.
43.4, jct w/ FR-161, go 0.2 mi W to crossrd, TR, go 0.1 mi to dead-end. Room for 2-3 med rigs. Must back into perpendicular slot, pull forward to turn around. FR-161 continues w/ several good dispersed spots, ends at very lg trailhead ~6 mi in.
44, S side. Long skinny gravel pullout. ~5 mi E of Tres Ritos. Gravel. 2-3 rigs. 9000′ elev. Quiet. Great hiking nearby at end of FR-161 (W from MM 43). Debby Beatty #135578 stayed Jun 18.
44.6, Sm pullout, W side. No facilities. Close to hwy but quiet at night. 1-2 sm rigs.
46.5, FR-89, W side, entrance hidden by trees. Angostura Trailhead, pkg lot, past the private cabins.
47.3, Aqua Sarca Trailhead, E side. Very sm pkg area, no turnaround, sm vehicles/no trailers. Might have to back out if 3 cars are there, but is very short driveway. Nice moderately easy trail along the creek.
~48, Duran Canyon/La Junta Rd/FR-76, E side. Major side rd with CG, designated dispersed sites (fire rings). Several trails (mostly steep & rocky).
~49.5, Agua Piedra CG. 44 BD sites, tables, a few pullthrus, some tent only, some shaded. Drinking W. Vault toilets. Open May-Sep. $16, S/A Pass 1/2. 1.5 mi NW of Tres Ritos on SR-518, W side of hwy, 0.1 mi on FR-708. 36.13528 -105.52861. 8100′ elev. ~36′ max length recommended. ~51.5, Flechado Day Use Area E side, pkg. Nice trail on W side but no room to park.
~52, Sipapu Ski Area, sm lodge, snack bar.
~53, Gallegos Canyon Trailhead, E side. Sm narrow entrance, sm rig only.
53.9, Tio Maes Trailhead. 0.25 mi paved spur N side to lg level paved area near creek. Trail is steep & rocky, displays major vegetative changes.
54.6, Comales CG. Tables, grills, toilets. $13, S/A Pass 1/2.
~56, Osha Canyon Trailhead & car pkg. Tight turns, low trees.
68-69, W side along riv, just S of Ranchos de Taos. 2 single lane, paved fishing pullouts. Also a smaller dirt pullout at MM 69.1.
