Big Lost River Lower Sportsman Access (ID Fish & Game). Pit Toilets. Free. 10-day limit. 2.5 mi NW of town on US-93, MM 111 +~0.6 mi. Entrance on L (W) across hwy from sign. N 43 56.537 W 113 38.993. Good gravel CG rd, dirt rds lead off to campsites (some narrow w/ tight curves, overhang). Some OK for lg rigs; check before going in. Near sm riv. Mostly shaded, few open areas. Mackay Reservoir BD areas (BLM). Undesignated sites. 10-14 day limit? Go NW from town ~5 mi on US-93. Many dirt rd turnoffs on W side to shore. Most rough but passable, scout access before proceeding, mostly 1-2 rig sites. Most open, flat but not always level. One rd crosses dam (S side of Reservoir) to flat area suitable for lg RVs. Historical Mkr at this jct w/ info on 10-28-1983 7.3 quake. Ctr is 2.5 mi up Doublespring Pass Rd. Great views of valley & Mt.
