From Banff NP at jct PH-93 & PH-11, ~40 mi NE on PH-11 to entrance rd on R. Dam entrance rd is gravel. At 2.2 mi the camping areas begin. At 2.7 take fork L for sites at bottom of dam. 2) Preachers Point staging area. Established dispersed camping, fire rings. Free. 14 day limit. 39.25 mi W of town on PH-11, or 15.8 mi E on PH-11 from Banff NP entrance, or 34.7 mi W from jct w/ PH-40 (just W of Nordegg), to area on L. 52.09066 -116.4251. Lg unshaded area along riv, for any size rig. Great views of the riv/Upper Abraham Lake & mtns. Hiking. No cell service. Also, after the turnoff & before going up the hill to the trailhead, TL on a dirt/grass rd, leads to a fairly flat, grassy area w/ fire rings & pkg for 4 units. 52.00344 -116.50287.
