Overton WMA. 6 pullthrus, each w/ ramada, table, grill. Free. 8-day limit. From the post office in town, go 2.7 mi S on SR-169, TL (E) on graded gravel & dirt rd at sign to WMA (shows both directions). N36.516 W114.422. Very lg level dirt/gravel sites separated by trees & bushes, each can fit more than 1 rig. 2 horseshoe pits. Great hiking, birding (bald eagle seen), many man-made blinds. Overton Mesa (aka Poverty Hill, Poverty Flats or Snowbird Mesa, BOR). BD. No facilities. Free. No stay limit Sep-May. No signs posted anywhere, but people have reported being told by BOR that camping is not permitted from Jun-Aug. From the post office in town, go 5.3 mi S on SR-169 (3.6 mi N of Valley of Fire Hwy). As you come up the hill, 1st you will see a lg flat area off the rd to the E, entrance at N36.48352 W114.45073, goes ~1/2 mi. 2nd entrance (N36.48206 W114.45352) goes E ~1/2 mi. 3rd entrance (N36.48075 W114.45491) goes E over 1/4 mi. All areas to E have great views. Multiple entrances also go W from main crest of the mesa. Mostly graveled & flat. Depending on time of yr, there may be a few dozen to hundreds of RVs in these areas & plenty of room for more. View of Lake Mead, if water level is high enough. Great ATT, Verizon OK. BD, Sand Mine Rd (ownership uncertain). No facilities. Free. 14-day limit if BLM. From Lin’s grocery in Overton go 6.3 mi S on SR-169. TL on dirt rd that leads to Sand Mine Rd. 36 28.235 -114 26.922. Sites spread out along rd, hard-packed gravel. Any size rig. Can camp along edge of canyon. Good ATT & Verizon. Potable W at Overton CP. Peter & Joan Williams #118734 May 16.


Stewarts Point, Lake Mead NRA (NPS). Dispersed camping. Vault toilets. Free, + $25/7 day or $45/yr vehicle entrance fee (S/A Pass free). 15-day limit. From post office in town, go 14 mi S on SR-169 (becomes Northshore Rd) to Stewarts Point Rd (~5 mi S of jct w/ Valley of Fire Hwy). TL (E), go 0.8 mi to end of pavement & another 1.5 mi on gravel rd (very rough May 14, check ahead), to camping area. 36.37842 -114.39862. (If going N thru Lake Mead NRA, Stewarts Point Rd is 38 mi N of jct Northshore Rd & Lake Mead Blvd, on Northshore Rd.) Lots of space but often crowded. Overlooks shore of Lake Mead. Echo Bay CG, Lake Mead NRA (NPS). 12 BD sites upper CG, 37 in lower. Potable W. Restrooms, D. Trash service. $20 (S/A Pass 1/2) + $25/7 day or $45/yr vehicle entrance fee (S/A Pass free). 30-day limit. Open all yr. From post office in town, go ~19 mi S on SR-169 (becomes Northshore Rd) to Echo Bay Rd (~10 mi S of jct w/ Valley of Fire Hwy) near MM 30. TL (E), go ~3 mi to CG. (If going N thru Lake Mead NRA, Echo Bay Rd is ~33 mi N of jct Northshore Rd & Lake Mead Blvd, on Northshore Rd.) Nearby concessionaire has pricey FHU sites. 703-293-8906. Donna Huffer #50333 May 13. Mormon Mesa, very lg open area for BD. Several fire rings. Free. From SR-169 in town, go 1.2 mi N on Cooper Ave, TR on Mormon Mesa Rd, go 2.5 mi (dirt, but in good shape until rather steep climb to top), on R. N36.58482 W114.40624. Room for many rigs. W at park in town (no camping). High enough for good breezes, but unshaded. Awesome views. Richard & Kathy Howe #74769 stayed May 22.
