W, showers ($5), D (if not camping, day pass $10 to shower, fill w/ W (good potable), D, hike, picnic). $21, S/A Pass 1/2. No reservations. SR-12, 1/2 mi E of visitor ctr, S side of rd. Potable W faucet next to D, & W taps thruout CG. $15, S/A Pass 1/2. No discount on 1 $30 dbl site. Reserve: recreation.gov or 877-444-6777. 14-day limit. No reservations. ~Mem Day-Labor Day. ~16 mi S then W of Panguitch on SR-143, MM 32.9, S side of hwy. 37.70116 -112.65575. Narrow dusty rds, sharp turns, narrow culdesac, trees not trimmed. Sm rigs/tents only. Signed “Lg trailers, 5th wheels or motorhomes prohibited”. Turnaround in front too sm for many lg rigs. OHV/ATV in area but prohibited in CG, cannot be trailered into CG. FR-068 area, BD (NF). Stone firerings. Free. 16-day limit w/in 30 or move 10 mi. ~20 mi S then W of Panguitch on SR-143, MM 29, TL (S) on FR-50/Mammoth Creek Rd (paved), go 0.8 mi, TR (W) on FR-406 (37.64737 -112.66627, unpaved), 1) go ~0.1 mi to dispersed sites on L along NE side of a row of trees that borders FR-1688. 2) Continue short distance on FR-406, TR (NW) on FR-1688 (37.64644 -112.669, L turn not for med or lg rigs), go 0.3 mi, TR (N) on FR-068 (37.647 -112.67323, L turn not for med or lg rigs), go ~0.3 mi, TL (angled turn to W, 37.65228 -112.67213, FR-068C per map, rough but take it slow), immed TR to huge area, sloped, mostly unshaded, fits several rigs. Notes: Area can be reached via FR-068 from the N (via FR-50 just S of turnoff from SR-143), but it is ~1/4 mi of 10% grade on rough dirt rd. FR-406 is less steep option to enter/leave area. Either way, on FR-50, the ~400′ stretch at jct w/ SR-143 is a short ~12% grade. FR-068C gets very muddy during/after rain. Guy Gipson #84383 Jul 13.
Mammoth Creek CG (NF). 7 numbered “designated dispersed camping” sites. Pit toilet. Free. 16-day limit w/in 30 or move 10 mi. ~20 mi S then W of Panguitch on SR-143, MM 29, TL (S) on FR-50/Mammoth Creek Rd, go 4.5 mi, just past Mammoth Creek Village, to beginning of curve just before bridge, TR (W) on FR-068 (small sign & info kiosk), go 3.7 mi on dust-controlled gravel rd along creek (good gravel after NF sign). Go past Mammoth Spring (sign) to CG on L. 2 entrances on L, 2nd has info kiosk. N37 38.232 W112 40.276. Gravel rd & pads. Flat, smooth, fairly level sites, most shaded. 2 sites along creek, 0.4 mi before main area (check before going into these, limited turnaround). Camp in numbered sites only. Beautiful area along Mammoth Creek, near Mammoth Spring. Good hiking/ATV access. Elev 8150′. FR-068 from N is steep 1-lane dirt rd, winding, no shoulder along cliff, not recommended for any size rig.
