Cochise Stronghold, BD sites (NF). Free. 14-day limit. 2 mi N of Pearce on US-191 at Sunsites, TL (W) on Ironwood Rd, follow signs to Cochise Stronghold. Rds are quite rough. Best to check 1st w/ sm vehicle. A few lg-rig sites. Weak Verizon. It’s ~7.5 mi to Coronado NF sign. W/in 0.5 mi are 2 areas: 1) on R, take FR- 4809 to a couple places on R under trees.
2) TR in front of “camping permitted” sign to sites on both sides of rd. ~30′ max rig. Great 5 mi hike on old Apache trail over Dragoon Mtn, good nature hike, nice fee CG for sm rigs. Jim/Linda Gleason #28745 Mar 97. Last updated by Bill Scott #128223 stayed Jan 18.
