Coming S into town on SR-361 from Aransas Pass, where hwy makes sharp R towards Mustang Island SP, go L instead on Alister St, TR (E) on Cotter Ave at sign to Park, jetty starts at end of rd, is 0.7 mi long. 27.83436 -97.04468. Port Aransas & County beach pkg. Annual $12 city beach pkg pass required for pkg on city sections of beach, from beach marker 0 to 62. Separate pass needed for tow/towed vehicle if detached. 3-nite limit in a 3-wk period (rarely enforced in winter). Coming S into town on SR-361 from Aransas Pass, where hwy makes sharp R towards Mustang Island SP, go L instead on Alister St, TR (E) on Cotter Ave at sign to Park. No O/N pkg from Jetty to Horace Caldwell Pier, signed on short posts along beach. BD areas between beach markers 52-58 are signed free O/N pkg. No permit required at Access Rd 2 (beach marker 99) to Newport Access Rd (marker 196) except Mustang Island State Development Park (entrance fee) & marker 230-234 (Padre Balli Park/Bob Hall Pier paved pkg), marker 252-253 (Corpus Christi City Limits) & 6.3 mi S to Natl Seashore. Pkg area. No facilities. Free. No signs restrict O/N pkg or time, locals say they use for wks. 1.7 mi N of town on SR-361 (using free ferry from island, any size rig), TR on paved rd (Harbor Island Rd on maps, old Halliburton sign near it) just before bridge and before Lighthouse Park, go 0.2 mi. 27.8618 -97.07877. TL at “T”, room for 4-6 rigs in 0.1 mi to end of rd. Can park on pavement. Or, go 4.5 mi SE from Aransas Pass on SR-361 (no ferry needed), TL at end of bridge. Several washed out & low areas on Harbor Island Rd, use caution especially w/ lg rigs. Other areas: Unlimited free camping is permitted on the causeway between the bridge from Aransas Pass to the ferry terminal to/from Port Aransas, except at Lighthouse Park at 27.86581 -97.08335.
