Giles-French Park, Lake Umatilla/John Day Rec Area (COE). Free. 7-day limit w/in 30 at Rec Area. Apr 1-Oct 31. I-84 x109, go N to John Day Rec Area at Columbia Riv. 1) Go R (E) ~2 mi toward John Day Dam. Several paved & graveled lots next to the riv. N45 42.175 W120 43.466. Any size RV. Trees, grass, grills, tables, dumpsters, hot W & flush toilets in restrooms, swimming, fishing, boat launch. Good Verizon.2) At riv, go L (W), 1.1 mi on paved rd, to huge gravel bar created when dam was built. Pit toilet. No trees. Room for 20-30 lg RVs.
