McDonalds, lg concrete lg-rig pkg lot. No facilities. Free, no permission required. No stay limit specified. I-40 x275, N side, go E on Historic Rt 66, next to McDonalds w/ connecting steps down. Lot fits ~10 lg rigs. No shade. Somewhat unlevel. Trucks also use. Noise from hwy, st, early McDonald’s employees. Good 2G ATT cell. Major truck stops nearby. Santa Rosa Lake SP. 3 CGs, 65 sites w/ concrete shelters/tables/fire grills. Some w/ 50A E (13 reservable). Restrooms/showers, central W. D. Fees/stay limit: See NEW MEXICO SPs NOTE below. Open all yr. From Old Route 66 in town, take 2nd St N, TR on Eddy, TL (N) on 8th (becomes SR-91), go ~8 mi , follow “electric sites” signs past overlook, dam & COE Visitor Ctr to Park Office. N35 1.435 W104 40.703. Non-reservable area before bridge. Paved access roads, ~1/2 of sites fairly level, most have ramadas for shade. A few lg-rig sites. Playground, boat ramp, hiking/horse trails, corral. 1 CG has 10 primitive RV/tent sites along fishing beach, stay on gravel, avoid shale. ATT & Verizon OK some areas. RAs. 24 mi W on I-40, MM 252, WB side. Go thru RA to far W end. Short gravel rd opens to huge gravel pkg area lg enough for many lg rigs beyond sign “State Land – Do not disturb under penalty of law.” Is pkg “disturbing?” Hwy noise muted by lg bluff to E.
