Alkali CG, Fort Meade Rec Area (BLM). 6 BD sites. Pit toilet. $6, S/A Pass 1/2. Open May-Sep but closed the wk before & during motorcycle rally, & sometimes up to 1 wk after (usually in Aug). Take I-90 x34 just E of Sturgis. Go N (away from Black Hills National Cemetery) for very short way & TL (W) onto well-maintained gravel rd. Go 0.5 mi on gravel rd. CG on R. N44 22.564 W103 28.021. Unlevel sites in grass. Quiet & secluded. Lots of space. Poor Verizon. 500 yards further down rd is Horsecamp, 6 sites $8/nite. 4 mi to RA w/ D. Bryan Ed Jul 05. From Sturgis go E ~3.6 mi on SR-34 to jct w/ SR-79, go N ~3 mi on SR-79 to Bear Butte Lake Rd, TL (W), go ~0.8 mi to CG on L. N44 27.589 W103 27.046. Lg mowed grassy area thruout CG, good gravel access rd, some shade. Fishing, hiking, primitive boat launch (15 Hp). Great views of Black Hills. Bear Butte Interpretive Ctr near.
