E pedestals have locks; go to office during biz hours for payment & unlocking. W connections are in sub-surface boxes, very high pressure. 5 D stations but only 2 w/ W spigot (need channel locks/pliers to open), look for yellow poles along grassy area. $16 cash or check. Take I-20Bus thru town, turn N at Elm St to park entrance at end of st. As you enter you will come to a “Y” in the rd. Bear L towards lg, very visible, coliseum bldg. Rec permit (apart from CG fees) required by City for any lake use (except viewing), $2, $3/wkend, $10/yr – covers entire family. W at CGs safe but hard (affects taste), suggest to bring drinking W. I-20 x249 (set trip meter), go S on FM-1856, then at ~3.6 mi bear L on FM-2035. 1) Lake Sweetwater Municipal Park CG. On R side of FM-2035, 3.9 mi S of I-20, at base of N face of dam below lake. 32 unpaved RV/tent sites w/ 20/30/50A EW (some far from site), plus unmarked BD area. Restroom bldg. Unmarked D a few feet from NE corner of restroom (oval metal cover incorrectly labeled “water meter”, next to 3′-high arrow-shaped pipe), may overflow if heavily used or heavy rain. $15 w/ HUs, $6 (prob more) no HUs, +permit. 5 HU sites avail at monthly rate. Credit cards not accepted, cash only. Register & pay at golf course pro shop, 1.6 mi W of CG on FM-1856, open daily in season 8a-8p (do next morning if arrive late). 325-235-8816 to reserve or ck if avail. Spaces well spread out, not well defined. Park anywhere as long as cords/hoses reach. Most sites level. Some trees, plenty of open sites for satellite. Not along lake. Very quiet. Strong ATT. PHOTO. 2) Pappy’s Bait & Grill, RV/tent spaces. FM-2035, 4.3 mi from I-20 (~1/2 mi “up the hill” & E of Municipal CG), at E end of dam. 7 lakeside sites w/ 30A EW (adaptor needed for 20 or 50A). $20, $10 w/out HUs. 325-235-1223 to reserve or ck if avail. Easy for lg RVs, straight into each site from very lg pkg lot. Often has 1 or 2 sm furnished trailers for onsite rental. Live bait, ice, light groceries, fishing tackle, fishing platform, boat ramp, courtesy dock, lg boat trailer pkg area, grill galley w/ dining area all at or next to store.
