SR-24 ~MM 80, 38.28255 -111.24705, go S on entry rd to Capitol Reef NP, CG is shortly on R. Heavily shaded. Gen in Loop C only, hrs 8-10a, 6-8p. Dispersed sites (BLM), just W of Capitol Reef NP. No facilities. Free. 14-day limit. 1) SR-24, ~1/2 mi W of town, go 0.6 mi N on Sand Creek Rd, bear L, go 0.4 mi to trailhead pkg lot. 38.3133 -111.4366. A couple of sites, likely more when construction is done and equipment moved out. Mostly level, no prohibitive signs. OHV trails. Very scenic. Gail & Joel Docter #106280 Oct 23.
2) SR-24, E of town between MM 70 & 71, go S on 1280 East/Beas Lewis Flat Rd. 38 17 54.6N 111 23 34.9W. Several sites on L, a couple OK for lg RV. Several sites beyond cattle guard, towards quarry, some lg-rig OK. Also, R turn after cattle guard, sites for sm-med RVs. Park & unhook or walk. Could get muddy if it rains. Beautiful views. 4) Between MM 72 & 73, just W of MM 73, N side of hwy. 38.32667 -111.3641. Room for many lg rigs. Any size rig. Not very level. Spectacular scenery. Some hwy noise. Muddy when wet, dusty when windy. 5) Between MM 72-73 on S side of SR-24, ~3.6 mi E of town (W of Capitol Reef NP). N38 19.538 W111 22.073. Gravel pullout. No restrictive signs. Was told it is public land. Room for several lg rigs. 3) ~MM 72.2, 38.32409 -111.3725, similar rd goes N to 1 site, then a few areas further in OK for 3-4 lg rigs. Rd ends in turnaround. Sites not very level. Entrance has a “dip”, lg rigs take care.
