Virgin Dam (BLM). Designated BD sites, no facilities. Free. 14 day limit. From jct SR-17 & SR-9, go 3.65 mi E on SR-9. TR (S) on narrow paved rd, go 0.36 mi to the most commonly used sites & the best for lg rigs. 37.2025 -113.2318. Many rough dirt side rds also, best for sm rigs, slick when wet. Pullouts, SR-9 from Virgin E to Zion NP entrance. Few or none before MM 20. Apr 15: Report of law enforcement telling RVers not to park O/N at these. If you try, be prepared to move. More REPORTS NEEDED. MM 20.4, S side, NPS info board & pkg area, no signs restrict pkg, sm paved lot OK for ~1 lg rig.
MM 20.5, S side, 37.1885 -113.14093. 55×450′, gravel, OK for lg rig to pull in & out. On hill above Virgin Riv. Very quiet at night, furthest away from hwy. Mushy if recent rain. BD (BLM). Free. From SR-9 in Virgin, go ~1.5 mi N on Kolob Reservoir Rd, TR at 37.22053 -113.16226, take 1st rd on R. Look for several dirt rds (sometimes in poor condition) going L (E) to cottonwoods along the riv. Most spots are sm but some can hold 2 med-lg RVs. Kolob Reservoir Rd, goes N from SR-9 in Virgin at 37.20386 -113.18605, ~MM 19. This rd goes in & out of the W side of Zion NP. These parts of the NP are breathtakingly typical of the main part, & require no pass to drive thru. Caveat: Kolob Reservoir Rd is winding w/ some steep grades, especially in the NP portions. 1) 3 sections of it before the Reservoir are in Washington County UT, not in the NP, & have pullout areas OK for O/N pkg if not otherwise posted (nice pullout on R ~5 mi in, nice views, fairly level). Much of this part of the rd is in BLM.2) ~7 mi N on Kolob Reservoir Rd, TL (W) on Smith Mesa Rd (dirt, good condition). Many BD spots, 1 at N37.30059 W113.12815. Elev 5261′. Richard & Kathy Howe #74769 stayed May 22.3) At the Reservoir, a huge beautiful lake, there is a lg paved pkg area w/ restrooms, no signs prohibit any kind of pkg, & not in the NP. 2 frost-free W hydrants, free, signed 5-gal limit, just past the pkg area. Reservoir at N37.433 W113.043.4) This rd also shows on detail maps as continuing N past the Reservoir to SR-14 near Cedar City, sm vehicle might check it out.

Lava Point CG (NPS). 6 BD sites. Vault toilets, trash service. $20, S/A Pass 1/2. Reserve rec,gov required, advance of arrival (poor cell service). No signed stay limit. ~5/25-9/30. From SR-9 in town at 37.20386 -113.18605, go ~16 mi N on Kolob Reservoir Rd. Just before crossing ridge to Reservoir, TR at NP sign pointing E toward Lava Lookout & Trail, go 1.8 mi on good gravel rd to CG. Sm rigs only (rd signed 19′ max). Several low branches. Sheep Bridge Rd (BLM), BD areas. 14 day limit w/in 26, w/in 30 mi. N end of well-graded dirt rd starts ~1.3 mi W of town at 37.20508 -113.21022, & goes 4 mi S to SR-59 (3 mi SE of Hurricane), 37 9 21N 113 15 32W (lg pullout S side of jct, levelling needed). Several places to BD along rd S of bridge over Virgin Riv. Many sites on side rd to NW at 37.1868 -113.22249, 1.7 mi S of SR-9. Camping allowed only in sites designated by tall brown markers w/ site numbers. Site maps on sign boards at both ends of rd. Verizon good. Near decorative stone quarry. 15 mi from Zion NP entrance.
